March 21 & 22, 2020
Weekend is here! I had all the intentions to wake up early, get ready and try to beat the crowd at the grocery aisle. On second thought, the bed feels comfy and the kitties are cuddling. Oh well, maybe next week. We still have enough provisions to last another week.
We do have a couple of cleaning ladies that come to help us keep our home clean and organized every other week. However, primarily because of this shelter-in-place order and secondarily because one of them just came back from Spain, I’ve decided to ask them not to come for the meantime. We promised to pay them their usual fees though understanding that these are hard times and they need the income.
For those of you reading this, if you have folks doing gig work for you and you have the means, try to put yourselves in their place and offer help. Whether in the form of cash or gift cards or giving them some work that they can do remotely. Other than the elderly and those with underlying conditions, folks who were working in the service industries suddenly find themselves out of work and without a safety net. CoVid19 is the dominant force. Let’s all pitch in. If you’re a creditor, a landlord, a bigger business with the means, now is the time to help your community. Small businesses are most vulnerable yet they are the engines of recovery and growth.
Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, ‘What’s in it for me?’

I digress. After eons, I find myself cleaning the entire house. I’ve forgotten how time-consuming and physically-demanding the chore is! Thank you H and A for what you’ve been doing for us for all these years! Since I’m a half glass full person, at least I’m happy and confident that our home is completely sanitized and dust-free! CoVid19 virus be gone!
The prize for the effort? A sandwich for lunch from the hubby! Yay! Division of labor it is…thanks CoVid19! You do bring some positives during these unreal times.
The other positives?
- Finally able to wash my pairs of AllBirds shoes
- Organize our linen and towel closets
- Take inventory of what I need to donate for Spring Cleaning
- FaceTime with my sister and her kids
- Send messages to other members of the family and friends
- Hubby making dinner
It’s time for me to put my feet up. Folding the laundry can wait.
